VISIT OUR PRACTICE FOR THE MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE (MLD) TECHNIQUE
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, non-invasive manual technique that promotes the flow of lymphatic fluid. This therapy involves light pressure and rhythmic strokes that stimulate lymph movement and drain the affected tissue of excess water and protein.
It was developed by Emil and Estrid Vodder in the 1930s for the treatment of swollen lymph nodes. Vodder MLD is the most well-known and extensive method to assist in decongesting the lymphatic system. Research in Australia, Europe, and North America shows its efficacy in facilitating drainage and enhancing recovery.
The most common conditions that MLD can help with are:
21
Pre & post-surgery (cosmetic/orthopedic surgery)
Migraines related to stress, digestion, or hormonal issues
Lymphedema
Fibromyalgia
Whiplash
Chronic Sinusitis
Pre & postnatal care
Various inflammatory conditions
